Maria has over fifteen years of experience in assurance, compliance, and advisory work. She now specialises in sustainability and risk advisory, as well as data governance implementation and compliance across areas such as GDPR and PDPA. She assists various listed companies in Singapore, spanning diverse industries, to comply with and enhance their sustainability reporting programs.

Her clients include listed companies, multinational corporations, and statutory boards, covering statutory audits and other certification exercises. Her industry experience spans manufacturing, shipping, trading, and retail, and she also has experience in initial public offerings, financial due diligence, and forensic accounting engagements.

She has led and conducted several sustainability engagements, including TCFD implementation, capacity-building workshops and training on sustainability-related topics, and facilitating clients in their sustainability journeys in areas such as materiality assessment, stakeholder engagement, and reporting.

A sustainability practitioner for over two decades, Esther published the first sustainability report in Singapore in 2008 and issued the first green bond by a Singapore company in 2017.

Conferred the 2018 SDG Pioneer for Green Infrastructure and A Low Carbon Economy by the UN Global Compact, and named amongst 25 Trailblazing Women against Climate Change by Reuters in 2023, as well as the inaugural TIME100 Climate Leaders in Business 2023 list, Esther sits on the boards or advisory platforms of international organizations including:

She founded Women4Green and Youth4Climate networks to empower women and youths to champion climate action and sustainable development.

Jovi is the recipient of the CDL - Singapore Press Club Sustainability Journalism Award 2024 that recognises excellent sustainability journalism that has had a positive impact on public attitudes, behaviours and policies which further the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The recipient of this award has demonstrated commitment and passion to leave a better world for future generations. He also received SGX Orb Awards 2024 — "Special Category: Doing What It Takes".
